Belmont Train Group

The Belmont Avenue Model Railroaders Group consists of fifteen or so members some who are current or previous members of the Fresno Model Railroad Club. It came into existence a couple of years ago when the Club realized that we needed a larger place for a layout in order to have all its members present and running at one time.

The Belmont Groups' layout is a private layout at 1719 E. Belmont. Participating members contribute a monthly amount to pay for the rent of the building and as such are allowed 24 hour access to work on or operate the layout. This layout is used to promote the hobby and to encourage visitors to join either the Club or the Group or preferably both. All are welcome to come on Wednesday evenings at 7:00pm.

A new layout is currently under construction to replace the original layout that was 12 feet wide and 48½ feet long with two levels. It had a helix and a grade, both with double mainline tracks for trains to climb or descend levels. The original layout was removed to make way for the new layout that will not require a "duck-under". The new layout will allow ten or more members to run at the same time without being crowded.

Here are some pictures taken at the Belmont layout. Some of them show the early stages of the original layout before the second level was added. Most of the pictures are of the new layout. More pictures will be added as the new layout progresses.
